Scummvm android install games3/15/2024 ![]() ![]() I chose it intentionally as my example, though, because it's important to check out the compatibility notes for any quirks, like the teenagent.dat file in this case. In particular, the English translation isn't that great (the original game was Polish, I believe) and the puzzles are somewhat difficult because many of them aren't very intuitive many of the solutions simply don't make much sense. In case you're curious, I haven't actually found Teen Agent to be very fun. As noted in the documentation page about Adding Games, there's also a batch-mode alternative for 'Add Game', called 'Mass Add' which is accessed by clicking the small arrow icon on the button. Browse to the folder where you put the Teen Agent files, highlight the folder, and click Choose. Launch ScummVM app on my Android device, use the 'Add Game' to point to each of the newly added folders - Launch the detected game(s). On your phone, open ScummVM, then click Add Game.Get the teenagent.dat file (which was mentioned in the compatibility notes for this game) and put it in the same folder where you put the *.res files.Go to the Teen Agent installation folder, and copy all the *.res files somewhere to your Android device's storage/SD card.Install Teen Agent (if you're using Linux this works fine in Wine). Here's what the above steps would look like for one of the free games, Teen Agent: Browse to the folder where you put the data files, highlight the folder, and click ChooseĪ few games, such as Beneath a Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen have even been released as freeware. ![]() You need to get those data files from your copy of the game (install the game if necessary), and then put these files somewhere on the SD card of your phone. Then go to the Google Play Store and install the correct plugin for that engine.įind your game in the data files list, and make note of the data files it needs. There is also a drop down option on the right side of the 'Add Game' button to mass add games as well. Then create a text file, put the game id there as well ('ind圓' - and nothing else) and save he file as 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.scummvm' inside the ind圓 folder. rename it to 'ind圓' (which is the game id from here ). All I do in ScummVM is select add game, navigate to my game files (for me on my SD Card), and add it in. Copy the folder containing the game files to your sdcard/roms/scummvm folder. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. To install, I downloaded 'scummvm-1.2.1-android.apk' from the downloads of the scummvm site, put it in the root of my Android, installed it and added my game files in its own folder also in the root of my Android. Go to the list of game engines, find the game you want to play, and then find the engine it needs. Ive tried the /data/scummvm/files directory. Be sure to click on the game and read the compatibility notes. In the game compatibility list, pick a game you want to play, and make sure it's compatible. to install ScummVM you can use the Android Market (now Google Plus) and install ScummVM an the PlugIn of your choice. Here's how: This opens a file browser either the system file browser or the ScummVM file browser. So my question is: did I overlook something? Am I doing something wrong when adding BS1 and BS2? These are the only two games that have this issue, all other games I have added do not have this problem and are playable even with a restart of the ScummVM app. I don’t think it is related since a specific folder structure is not required with BS2 and I am having this issue with the successor as well. I have seen the note in the Wiki for BS1 (“ Since ScummVM 2.7.0 the folder structure from the original media needs to be preserved”), but even with the subdirectories, this error occurs. All required files for that game are in a single gamedir, the game is detected after adding, is playable after that and after the next exit and relaunch, it is also greyed out in the UI and cannot be started with the same error as BS1. The exact same thing happens with Broken Sword 2. ![]() However, when I exit the game, quit ScummVM and with the next launch of ScummVM, BS1 is greyed out in the UI list and when trying to launch the game, I get an error pop-up with “ Error running game: game data not found”. When adding the gamedir for BS1, the game is properly detected and I am able to start the game. ![]()
